If you’re looking for maximum results from a laser resurfacing peel and can afford a little more downtime, you should choose the Deep Mixto.
This treatment outperforms any other laser on the market, as it combines heat and deep settings to stimulate the maximum amount of new skin and collagen production. No other procedure comes close to our Deep Mixto.
As part of skin rejuvenation and beauty maintenance, we recommend Deep Mixto every 2-3 years.
Deep Mixto treatments benefit the following conditions:
- Extensive and complex acne scars
- Mottled skin pigmentation
- Deep lines, wrinkles and creases
- Excessively sun-damaged skin
- Small skin lesions or growths
What are Deep Mixto treatments?
Deep Mixto treatments involve using our most advanced Mixto Laser hand piece at deeper, higher fluence settings. This is the most state-of-the-art use of ablative, fractionated carbon dioxide lasers. Treatments aim to remove skin cells and elements of the deeper layers of skin, which causes maximum collagen contraction and regeneration.
What is the treatment like?
On the day of the treatment, we apply a deep numbing mask in our office for two hours. Injections of local anesthetic may also be used if indicated. Then we remove the mask and our provider pulses the desired areas with the Mixto laser.
A full face takes about 20-30 minutes for each pass. Smaller areas may only take a few minutes. The total treatment time depends on how aggressive you want to be.
How many treatments are required?
For rejuvenation of the face, we recommend a Deep Mixto treatment every few years. Treatments can be repeated as much as every 2-4 months on small areas of traumatic or acne scarring.
What is the downtime?
After a treatment, your skin quickly becomes red, swollen and moist, followed by a period of peeling and healing. Total downtime depends on how aggressive you want to be.
If the eye and mouth area are treated, swelling around the eyes or mouth will occur and last a few days. Redness occurs at all treatment sites and may take 1-2 weeks to fade. Dark specks at the sites of the laser dots can also take 1-2 weeks to fade.
What are the risks?
Most reactions to the treatment are temporary, as described above. There are rare reports of infections, persistent redness, temporary or permanent pigment changes (lightening or darkening of skin), and scarring.
