Nonablative-Fractionated Resurfacing

This type of skin resurfacing involves treatment with the Palomar 1540 nonablative fractionated laser. The Palomar 1540 laser resurfaces the skin through an array of precise microbeams. The microbeams coagulate (heat) the epidermis and dermis in microscopic columns which trigger the body's own natural production of new collagen and skin cells. There is no ablation (removal) of skin, and the skin surrounding the microbeams is spared. This means less risk and less recovery time compared to ablative laser resurfacing.
