Winter: The Perfect Time to Peel
You’re probably missing your summer glow right…about…now. Days are getting miserably cold, and we have the solution to perk up your skin: A peel! Keep reading for our tips on why winter is the perfect time to peel and reclaim your summer glow.
Why should I schedule a peel in winter?
Ideally, you should avoid the sun before and after a peel. How long? For about two weeks. Who wants to do that in the summertime? That’s why we recommend wintertime as the ideal season for peels.
What sort of peels are there?
Here’s a list of our peels, in order from those that give the most noticeable result to those that give a more subtle glow:
- Deep & Light Mixto
- Microneedling with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)
- AquaGold® Microneedling with Protox Infusion
- Satin Peel
- The Radiant Peel™
- Chemical, or glycolic, peels
Will I have downtime with a peel?
It all depends on the peel you select. Some, like the Deep Mixto, may have 7-14 days where you won’t wear makeup. Others, such as The Radiant Peel, might have 3 or 4 days where you avoid wearing makeup. Be sure to discuss your concerns with our providers and they’ll help you choose the perfect peel!
What sort of results should I see from my peel?
Again, results will range based on the peel you select. They may include:
- Smaller pores
- A reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, and scars
- Fewer acne breakouts
- Smoother skin
- A radiant glow
Most peels should be repeated every 4-8 weeks for best results
Think of a peel as a “workout” for your skin
It’s the equivalent of a haircut for your hair: Repeat for best results
