Scar Revision
Scars that are red or violet will lighten significantly after a series of vascular laser treatments. Rugged or uneven scars can be smoothed with our carbon dioxide laser. Scars that are thick and raised can be flattened with cortisone injections. Re-excision can benefit some cases.
Unsightly or poorly healed scars may be improved with a variety of procedures ranging from excision and repair of the scar to more complex flap closure techniques. Adjunctive techniques including laser, dermabrasion and steroid injection may also be applied to optimize the final result.
Will I still have a scar after scar revision?
Existing scars cannot be removed completely. The objective of scar revision is to decrease its visibility and aesthetic impact.

Many scars improve over time. Patients are typically asked to allow the scar to heal for about a year prior to considering scar revision. Non-surgical treatment such as laser and steroid application may be options during this period.
Keeping in mind that scars improve over time, the final results of scar revision may not be apparent for a year or more. Factors that influence the degree of improvement include the size and direction of the scar, the nature and quality of the skin, and post-operative wound care.

After many years of debating over doing enhancement or not in areas above my neck, I finally took the plunge.
