Microneedling with Selphyl®

Microneedling is a process called ‘collagen induction therapy’ and causes your own skin to immediately begin to repair itself, build collagen, and become rejuvenated. We use the Bellus Medical SkinPen, the first-ever cleared by the FDA.

Microneedling with Selphyl® combines microneedling with your body’s own platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) to naturally rejuvenate the skin. A small blood sample is drawn to prepare PRF, which is then applied during microneedling. The microneedling creates tiny micro-channels in the skin, allowing the PRF to penetrate deeply and stimulate collagen production. Over the following weeks, your skin gradually becomes smoother, firmer, and more radiant as natural healing and cellular renewal take place.

Your Microneedling with SELPHYL® treatment is performed by Jessie Mallalieu, our skilled Physician Assistant. A friendly Medical Assistant will also assist by drawing a small blood sample to prepare the SELPHYL® PRF, ensuring your treatment is safe, comfortable, and precise.

Before your Microneedling with SELPHYL® treatment, we apply a topical numbing cream to keep you comfortable. During the procedure, most patients feel only a gentle vibration or light prickling sensation as the device glides over the skin. Thanks to the numbing, the treatment is usually very well tolerated, with minimal discomfort.

After treatment, you may experience mild redness or sensitivity for 24-48 hours, similar to a mild sunburn. Over the following weeks, your skin gradually becomes smoother, plumper, and more radiant as collagen renewal continues. For best results, a series of 2-3 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended.
